Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
This tool places a visual signature image on your document, similar to signing a printed page. For workflows that require a certified audit trail (e.g. contract e-signature platforms), use a dedicated e-signature service.
Is a signature added here legally binding?
It depends entirely on what the document requires. This adds a visual signature — drawn, typed or uploaded — to the page, which is what most everyday paperwork needs: forms, permission slips, internal approvals. It is not a certificate-based digital signature and carries no identity verification or audit trail. For contracts that specify a qualified electronic signature, check what your jurisdiction and counterparty actually require.
Can I move or remove the signature after downloading?
No. Once stamped and downloaded, the signature is part of that page's content, exactly as if you had printed and signed on paper. There is no later edit step. If you need to reposition it, sign a fresh copy of the original unsigned PDF rather than trying to correct the signed one — which is a good reason to keep the original.
Is my signature stored anywhere?
No. Your signature exists only in the browser tab while you are working, and nothing about it is saved to this site, sent to a server or kept between visits — closing the tab discards it. That does mean you draw or type it again each time. Given that a signature is among the more sensitive things a person uploads anywhere, not storing it is the deliberate trade.
